Hello, is there any chance to set password for new user without using invitation system? We have strong passwords, that we use for users for all corporate portals and services, it's hard for us to give user a chance to change password for his own.

Thanks for your answer, Daniel

After setting new user he gets a message, where he can change his password and i can't regulate this.

Ok, i will try to modify my question. Is there any function to disable password changing for a group of users or for all users, and password changing will be only used by admin? AD and LDAP is our future, we haven't it now.

On my side, I have to click on a button to send the invitation. Maybe it's because you're filling the email when you're creating the user? Try setting it later.

Thanks, Daniel. It's a good hack for this problem)) That can't prevent users from changing their password, but it's a key how to use preconfigured password. Thanks again!

It's a convenience feature, but you're not required to use it - you can just create the user and set it's password, without sending an invitation.

You mention using several portals and services, so probably what you should use is a central Directory service such as OpenLDAP or Active Directory. OpenERP is able to login through it (module auth_ldap) and even import the user list (module users_ldap_populate).
